My Voice Will Go With You : The Teaching Tales of Milton H. Erickson, M.D. - Sidney Rosen (Editor)
Milton H. Erickson has been called the most influential
hypnotherapist
of our time. Closely related to his therapy was his use of "teaching tales." Calling upon shock, surprise, confusion--with generous use of questions, puns, and playful humor--he seeded suggestions indirectly and positively with these
tales. Enjoyable reading, this volume is instructive as well for those who
want to develop the skill of therapeutic metaphor.
The Couple Who Became Each Other: Stories of Healing and Transformation from a Leading Hypnotist - David Calof
This is an
excellent book for intermediate and advanced students which
presents a number of cases from David's work with clients.
Although this is not a "how-to" book, these delightful
and easily read stories will offer you valuable insight into the
clinical practice of hypnotherapy. Calof's artistry is as thought
provoking as it is inspirational.
Introducing Neurolinguistic Programming - Joseph O'Conner and John Seymour
Of all of the many books on NLP, this is
the best overview I've ever seen. A comprehensive presentation of
the concepts and processes taught in a complete NLP training, it
includes numerous exercises that you can use with yourself, with
friends, and clients in an easy to understand format. It's a
perfect book for the inquirer or beginner as well as a great

is complete without it.
Zebu - The hypnotic language card game - Robert Anue
The Zebu cards are great for students of hypnosis (or even advanced
practitioners) who want to learn some

cards" to practice language or, following the included instructions, can be
used to play a delightful card game that will help you develop or hone your
skills. The patterns involved range from beginning to advanced and include both
traditional and Ericksonian language. We've had lots of fun with these
over the years and are confident that you will find them delightful as well.

Therapeutic Trances: The Co-operative Principle in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy - Stephen Gilligan

The Courage to Love - Stephen Gilligan
This is a book about how psychotherapy may be used to
cultivate the courage and freedom to love. In a time when love
seems to be fading and hatred and despair rising, it presents
love as a skill and force that can heal and invigorate, reconnect
and guide, calm and encourage. in Gilligan's self-relations
approach, psychotherapy is a conversation about competing
differences. when these differences are treated violently or
indifferently, problems arise; solutions develop when the skills
of love are practiced. Those practical skills are described here,
with an emphasis on post-conventional ethics, Buddhist and aikido
principles, and ideas of human sponsorship. Throughout,
psychotherapy is regarded as a rigorous poetic practice rather
than a literal scientific truth. Gilligan ends his introduction
with a message straight from the heart: "May you read the
book as a poem to awaken yourself and others!"

Hypnotherapy Scripts - A Neo-Ericksonian Approach to Persuasive Healing - Ronald A. Havens, Catherine R. Walters
From the first time I opened the cover of this
book, I've considered it one
of
the most valuable contributions to my library. Although not exhaustive in
scope, it provides a basic understanding of the principles of Ericksonian
hypnosis and subsequent developments in the field. But the best part of
all are the delightful and imaginative scripts, both direct and
indirect/metaphorical. Powerful interventions with a framework for their
use are offered for a wide variety of conditions ranging from self-esteem issues
to phobias, anxiety, depression, sexual dysfunction and more. A goldmine
of material for the beginner as well as a great resource for the established
